Jonathan Jardine

'Using prehabilitation to prevent crime'

Jonathan became Chief Executive of the West Midlands Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner in May 2015. He has led locally on oversight of deaths in police custody, Plebgate, stop and search, gangs and violence, media and communications, recovery from a failed counter-terrorism scheme, and development of the current commissioner’s first police and crime plan.

As the third largest force in the country, West Midlands Police covers a diverse urban area comprising nearly three million people, so it is never dull! Jonathan’s previous roles include Policy Manager for West Midlands Police Authority; partnership, scrutiny and research roles at Coventry City Council; Senior Lecturer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst; and a researcher at the University of Wolverhampton and University of Warwick.
